It’s a Vertical of Pinot for Pinot Pathways at Burrell School, March 27

by Laura Ness - @hervineness on March 18, 2010

DSC00006There’s no better way to explore the paradise of Pinot that is the Santa Cruz Mountains than Pinot Pathways: a self-guided tour of the area’s premier Pinot producers on Saturday March 27.

A self guided tour and tasting of Pinot Noir takes place from 11 til 5pm at over 20 Santa Cruz Mountain wineries.  The cost is just $25 and tickets may be purchased at Burrell School or from scmwa.com.  This is a great way to taste older vintages as well as future ones still in barrel. Grab a map off the scmwa website and start planning your route!

Here at Burrell School you’ll be treated to a vertical of estate Pinot Noir, beginning with the newly released 2006, vintage, followed by the 2007 and a barrel sample of the 2008 vintage. Also, don’t miss Sam’s Chowder Mobile who’ll be here at the winery on Saturday.  Chow down on some great seafood, guaranteed to partner with Pinot!

May we suggest you include our Summit Wine Trail neighbors in your route? Be sure to visit Loma Prieta, Silver Mountain, and Hunter Hill to enjoy their fine Pinots as well.

Also this weekend, March 20 & 21, Club Members can enjoy barrel samples and purchase futures of these wines at 50% off retail:

2008 Ryan Oaks Zinfandel at $192 per case

2008 Petite Sirah at $210 per case

2008 Estate Pinot Noir at $264 per case

2008 Estate Syrah at $192 per case

Don’t forget Pinot Paradise is Sunday, March 27 at Villa Ragusa in Campbell. Burrell School will be there with school bells on!
